Troubleshooting: Why my MeasureSquare Stone Running Slow and laggy

If MeasureSquare Stone feels slow, laggy, or jerky when you are working on projects, the following steps can help identify and resolve the issue.

1. Optimize Your Project File

Large or complex project files may cause slowness.

  • Don't put multiple takeoffs into one tab, make sure one tab only have one page of blueprint and one takeoff.

  • Lower the image size and resolution of your imported floorplan.

  • Break one large project into two smaller projects.


2. Update MeasureSquare Stone

Ensure you are using the latest version. Updates often contain performance improvements and bug fixes.


3. Close Unnecessary Programs

Other programs running in the background can use up memory and CPU.

  • Close browsers, streaming software, or heavy applications when using MeasureSquare.

  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check which apps are consuming high CPU or RAM.


4. Check Your Computer Specifications

MeasureSquare 8 is a graphics-intensive program. Performance issues often happen if the computer does not meet the minimum requirements.

  • CPU: Intel i7 or higher

  • RAM: At least 8GB (16GB recommended)

  • Graphics: Dedicated GPU with 2GB+ memory (NVIDIA/AMD preferred) 

  • Disk: SSD recommended

👉 If your hardware is below these specs, upgrading your system will greatly improve performance.


5. Switch your GPU performance
