How to use the Measure Square Catalog API with your own ERP system (as an office/operations manager)


In this article, we will go over a use case of how to use the MeasureSquare Cloud Catalog API to integrate with their ERP system. As an office manager involved with your company's daily operations, you will learn the steps and benefits of using this integration to streamline your estimating workflow.


With the addition of the Catalog API to our existing Cloud API, you will now be able to create, update, and delete products and product catalogs under your Cloud account. This allows you to create a way to manage your products from your own management system, such as an ERP. Effectively, the Catalog API eliminates the need to manually enter your quantities in your ERP system and instead drives your efficiency by automating this process.

Below is an example of  a use case which allows you to manage your product inventory based on your project estimations from Measure Square. Some suggested endpoints are linked below, but please be aware that using them is not required:

 

Use Case of ERP Integration with MeasureSquare Catalog API

1. You can create a product catalog, populating it each product and its details from your ERP.

2. Share your product catalog with your team members in MeasureSquare Cloud.

3. Your estimating team can download/sync this product catalog to MeasureSquare on their desktop or mobile devices and use it during a normal estimation process.

4. Once your estimators are done estimating a project, you can then access each project, download the estimation, and use the product details to look up which products they correspond to in your ERP.

5. You can then use those products and their associated quantities to generate a purchase order from your ERP.
