Why is the Design button grayed out in the Tile Patterns panel?

This article will show you why the Design button may appear grayed out in the Tile Patterns panel and how to resolve it as an Admin.

This article applies to MeasureSquare 8 (Desktop) and MeasureSquare Cloud

The Design button in the Tile Patterns panel allows users to customize tile layout and design options. When it appears grayed out, it is typically controlled by an Admin setting on the Cloud.

Step 1: Log into cloud.measuresquare.com under your Admin account and navigate to Group Management > Group Members

Step 2: At the top of the Group Members page, locate the "Use Admin Setting" checkbox and uncheck it

Step 3: Have the user relaunch MeasureSquare 8. The Design button in the Tile Patterns panel will now be available and no longer grayed out.

If the "Use Admin Setting" needs to remain enabled for other reasons, make sure the Admin first configures their own Design pattern preference before enabling it — that setting will be pushed to all group members.
