Why does the quantity of my tile not match the net area of the room?

This article will show why the quantity of your tile doesn't match up with the net area of the room

This article applies to all versions of MeasureSquare 8

The reason why the quantity of the tile doesn't match up with the net area of the room is because of the default grout width that is added to the tile by default.

Step 1: Right click on the Tile Pattern for your product -> View/Modify Details.

Pattern information is stored separately from the estimation and pricing information that is available from clicking on the main product. This allows more than one product to be input into a pattern

Step 2: Click the drop down menu to set your grout width.

To adjust your default grout width moving forward.

Step 1: Click on System Settings Gear at the top left of your screen.

Step 2: At the System Settings window, click on the Tile Estimation tab.

Step 3: At Default Grout Width choose your settings from the drop-down menu or type in the dimension in the text field. Click Save to save your settings moving forward.
