Why do I get an error when trying to log in on iPad?

This article will address the issue where a message pops up with a message that says "Unknown error" when you try to log in with a MeasureSquare ID and password.

This article applies to MeasureSquare Mobile Edition

When you get this error message, the cause is typically due to a lack of Internet connection or weak internet/cellular connection. In order to log in, MeasureSquare requires Internet connectivity in order to validate your license and allow you to start using the software. Please check your network settings and make sure that your device is connected to Internet or a cellular data network.

On the iPad, please do the following:

1. Check your WiFi connection by going to Settings, then tapping on WiFi to verify that your WiFi is enabled

2. Verify that you are connected to a WiFi network by making sure that you can see a network name next to Wi-Fi in your iPad Settings.

3. If you have verified that you are connected to WiFi, but are still getting an Unknown Error, please use cellular data, or try connecting to your phone's hotspot.

After you log in, you may begin using the takeoff/estimation features of software even if you lose Internet connection, although the Sync feature will not work.

Note: In the most current update for MeasureSquare Mobile, a popup will notify you if lack of Internet connection is the cause.
