Why Am I Receiving Warning Errors on MeasureSquare 8 for My Tile Calculations?
In this article, we will be going over how tile calculation methods can cause warnings under your 'Usage' and 'Usage Ext' columns.
This article applies to Builds 7587 and newer.
If a warning is shown under the Project Items, Usage, a tooltip will show if you hover mouse your over the item listed in red. It is up to the user to change the calculation method to Half Reuse/Cut And Fit/No Reuse. You can keep as is, the software just wants you to be aware of the current product level settings for calculation method may result in the Qty to be too high.
Calc method is "Waste Add-on". If the software is estimated by the cut tiles ( which is much smaller than a full tile) then the result may be short. So MeasureSquare estimates each piece as a full piece. However, this may cause the result to be high. You will then get a warning showing the Project Item Usage numbers in red. If you hover your mouse over the red numbers you will get a tool tip telling you why you’re getting the warning. If you think the result is too high then you can always go in and change the calc method to either half reuse, cut and fit, and no reuse.
Random tile pattern method (tile selected by percenatge) : When using this method it is best to use “Waste Add-on” instead of the half reuse/cut and fit/no reuse as those methods are meant to be used to calculate tile piece by piece. These methods can lead to conflicts that will be shown under the project items ‘Usage’ column.
Tile replacement method. "Waste Add-on" is a rough percentage estimation based off of the net area, but tile replacement is counting as piece by piece concept. These two methods don't work harmoniously by their own nature so a warning will show. You can choose the calculation methods Half Reuse/ Cut And Fit/ No reuse or leave as is.
