Stairs, Templates, and how to display a multi-level or climbing staircase in MeasureSquare 8

In this article, we will show you how to connect your stair pieces together in a way that allows for 3D viewing of multiple story access

This article applies to MeasureSquare 8 build 10625 and newer.

Step 1: Use the Stairway button or drop-down menu to bring your templates into the takeoff, then drag to position them together

Note: The templates will Snap together based off your Cursor location, not the template shapes

Info: With the landing selected, you can orient your next stair template to the right or left by using the checkbox toggle shown in the property view panel



Step 2: Complete your template for one story, then view in 3D. We are looking at two different examples 





Step 3: Copy the completed template for one story, then paste. Once pasted, you can drag to snap together. Repeat for as many stories as required



Step 4: When you apply material the to staircase, it will automatically apply to all stories and landings at once



Step 5: In 3D you can see the difference here. One is a straight column and the other rises and travel horizontally over time
