Room Scanner, what it can do and what is done better in MeasureSquare Mobile


Room scanner is a tool that takes advantage of Apples iPad Pro and iPhone Pro Lidar cameras. The App does not work with any other Lidar Hardware and base models of iPad and iPhone. Below we have listed a few commonly asked questions to help you know what to look for and how far to go when using our Room scanner app in combination with MeasureSquare Mobile. 

CAN:
  1. measure Rooms individually
  2. recognize Curves
  3. place your rooms together for you
    1. localization settings permit room placement and recognize when rooms are not adjacent
  4. Place doors, cabinets and countertops

CANT:
  1. accurately measure Glass walls, or sliding glass doors
    1. Draw a curtain to scan
  2. Create Openings
    1. close doors and use Measure by Floor in system settings
  3. Internal Walls
    1. Use Draw wall inside MeasureSquare Mobile to edit existing rooms
  4. Multiple Rooms (single scan)
  5. Stairs
  6. small closets or utility spaces
  7. Estimate
    1. Export into MeasureSquare Mobile program to estimate quantities
