Info: This most likely happened when you opened a 2015 file in MeasureSquare 8, and clicked save. In the future, click "save as" to create a MeasureSquare 8 version of this file. Continue to work on this newly saved version in the future. "Save as" will only be required the first time. 
Note: Turning on your file extensions may make following along with this article easier. Please follow the steps as shown for Windows 11Step 1: Right click on the 2015 files> rename the extension from fepz to fez > Enter > Click Yes to the pop up window
Step 2: File > Open > Select the project you just renamed > Open
Step 3: File > Save As > Pick a different location to save your new project files so you don't get confused with the old files
