Learning About Slab Size and Slab Images in takeoff and Slab Optimizer

In this article we will show you best practices on using slab images, slab sizes, and how they relate to each other inside the takeoff and when creating slabs with the slab optimizer

Step 1: Using Draw Area, Create a countertop, a cut to size type product, and add a slab image to that product

Step 2: Using the splitter tool (vertical, horizontal, etc.) split the countertop as required for the installation following your company's best practices

Learning Point: As you continue to split your Area, the slab image will appear in the area when it becomes Smaller than the slab dimensions of the cut-to-size product you created in step 1

Step 3: Inside Slab Optimizer when you import takeoff. The same dimensions you entered for each cut-to-size type product will become the default value for the slabs used in the calculations
