How to Split a Room (Split Room vs Split Room by Region) in MeasureSquare Stone

This article explains how to use the Split Room and Split Room by Region features in MeasureSquare Stone. Both methods allow you to divide a single room into two separate areas, but they differ in how walls are handled after the split.

Steps to Split a Room

Step 1: Draw a Divider Line

  • use Divider tool on the top ribbon
  • Click to set the starting point of the divider line, then draw it across the room to define where the split will occur.

Step 2: Apply the Split

  • Right-click on the room to open the context menu.
  • Hover over Room Edit to expand the submenu.
  • Choose one of the following options:
    • Split Room — splits the room and creates a wall along the divider line.
    • Split Room by Region — splits the room into separate regions without creating a wall along the divider line.

Step 3: Review the Result

After applying the split, the original room will be divided into two independently named rooms (e.g., Rm2 and Rm3, or Rm4 and Rm5).

  • Split Room: A wall segment is created along the divider line between the two new rooms.
  • Split Room by Region: The room is divided into two regions with no wall created along the split line.
