How to Split a Room (Split Room vs Split Room by Region) in MeasureSquare 8
This article explains how to use the Split Room and Split Room by Region features in MeasureSquare 8. Both methods allow you to divide a single room into two separate areas, but they differ in how walls are handled after the split.
Steps to Split a Room
Step 1: Draw a Divider Line
- use Divider tool on the top ribbon
- Click to set the starting point of the divider line, then draw it across the room to define where the split will occur.

Step 2: Apply the Split
Step 3: Review the Result
After applying the split, the original room will be divided into two independently named rooms (e.g., Rm2 and Rm3, or Rm4 and Rm5).
- Split Room: A wall segment is created along the divider line between the two new rooms.
- Split Room by Region: The room is divided into two regions with no wall created along the split line.
