How to lock seams in MeasureSquare 8


This article explains how to lock seams in MeasureSquare 8.

MeasureSquare 8 allows you to lock seams and layout direction, ensuring they remain fixed during your takeoff.

To lock seams, it is important to toggle on 3 options:
Lock Seam (Layout, Seam & Tile toolbar area) 
Room Lock (Shape Edit toolbar area)
Seam Lock (Shape Edit toolbar area)


Note: By default, unlocked seams in your diagram will be blue, and locked seams purple.
The Room & Seam lock toolbar buttons will be green when unlocked, and gold when locked.

Steps to lock seams:

Step 1: Locate a seam line in your design and select it.
Seam lines are typically represented by dashed lines in the layout view.
Select the seam line you want to lock by clicking on it. Once selected, the seam line will be highlighted. 

Step 2: LockSeam
Click the LockSeam button under the Layout, Seam & Tile menu. This will lock the seam location in place.


Step 3: Seam
Click the LockSeam button under the Layout, Seam & Tile menu. This will lock the seam location in place.
Click the Seam button on the Shape Edit menu. This will lock the seam to prevent it from being dragged around unintentionally.

Verify that the seam is locked by attempting to move or modify it. A locked seam will remain fixed, ensuring your layout stays consistent.
