How to extend border material into other rooms in MeasureSquare 8

In this article, we're going to show you how to draw a room with a border material that expands into a off shoots or another rooms.

Version: This article applies to MeasureSquare 8

You will typically do this when you have a hallway that has a different flooring product which wraps around the perimeter, and the hallway has off shoots that use the perimeter flooring product in them.

Step 1: Start by drawing out your hallway, the extra off shoots will branch out from the hallway.

NotesNote: Products can be added before or after all the drawing is complete, they are added here for greater clarity.

Step 2: Create your boarders, to do this Right Click [1] in your room/hallway and select Create Border Dividers [2].

In the Create Border Dividers menu you have the ability to select the product that your border will be made out of. You can change the width as well.

Step 3: Once you have your border created you then Right Click [1] go to Room Edit and select Split Wall Segment [2]

Step 4: Using the Split Wall Segment tool you click on the wall on each side of the opening you want to create. Once you have split the wall where your openings are you then Right Click to close the tool.

Step 5: Select the room you will see the wall is split, you can then extend your openings by clicking and dragging the diamonds in the middle.

Notes
You can use the other editing tools to modify the off shoots into other shapes if required.
