How to customize your Room Conditions Form

How to customize your Room Conditions Form

In this article, you will learn how to access the background files for your floor condition form, edit them, and upload them so that you can start using them in MeasureSquare 8 or MeasureSquare Mobile.

This article applies to MeasureSquare 8 and MeasureSquare Mobile.

The room condition form, shown here, is available in both MeasureSquare 8 and MeasureSquare Mobile. It contains multiple fields and checkboxes by default.

If you want to edit the form (such as adding additional checkboxes or fields), you may do so by downloading a ZIP file, editing the files inside, then uploading file in your MeasureSquare Cloud profile. The basic steps on how to do this are below, but there may be extra steps depending on your situation, which we will discuss later:

Scenario #1: You only want to add/remove fields from your floor condition form for YOUR OWN account

1. Download the floor condition ZIP file, linked here. You may need to download a file archiver software first, such as 7-Zip. Once you open the ZIP file, you will see the files below. Please only edit files when directed to do so in this article.

2. Open the Room.htm file with a file editor of your choice (Notepad++ is used in this example) by right-clicking on it and choosing Edit. Please be aware that you may need knowledge of HTML to make more complex layout changes.

3. Make your desired changes to the form. To add more checkboxes or fields, simply copy what is already there. For example. adding the code highlighted below will create an additional button labeled "Third party to remove". Save when done.

For removing any input fields from the condition form, simply delete the item with the field name.

4. In your MeasureSquare Cloud account, go to Profiles and make sure that no other Shape Form profile exists; if there is an existing Shape Form profile, delete it.

Click on Upload and select the .m2htf file that your edited file was part of.

5. If the Measure Square software is already open, close it and then reopen. This will allow it to load the most recent Floor Condition form you modified.

Scenario #2: You want upload a modified room condition form for YOUR GROUP members, as the group administrator

1. Follow Steps 1-2 in Scenario #1.  In your MeasureSquare Cloud account, go to Group Management > Group ProfilesClick on Upload.

2. Select the ZIP file (ending in .m2htf) that you worked on.
