How to make a stage or auditorium by using Create Stage tool on MeasureSquare 8

In this article, you will learn how to make a stage or auditorium by using the "create stage" tool on MeasureSquare 8.

Step 1: Create the main stage:
  1. Begin by creating a rectangular room layout.
  2. Go to Properties and set the wall height to 0 inches.

Step 2: Create the Stage:
  1. Highlight the elevation and go to the Room Edit menu.
  2. Select Create Stage and choose where to place stairs (indicated by highlighting the stage edge in turquoise).


Step 3: Adjust Stair Property:
  1. Specify tread and rise dimensions and select the preferred stair product.
  2. Click OK to apply, then review your stage in 3D View.
  3. Highlight the elevation and go to the Room Edit menu.
  4. Select Create Stage and choose where to place stairs (indicated by highlighting the stage edge in turquoise).


Notes

Configurations for Different Stage Types

  • Three-Sided Stairs:

    • Highlight the three edges where stairs should appear (in turquoise).
    • Follow the same steps as the basic setup.
  • Corner Stage:

    • Highlight two edges for stairs on adjacent sides.
    • Keep the wall height at zero, then proceed with the Create Stage feature.
  • Auditorium or Lecture Hall Layout:

    • Set up the stage as a single elevation with wall height zero.
    • Create stairs along one or more sides, depending on layout needs.
  • Curved Front Stage:

    • To add a curved front, press “R” on the keyboard to enter Arc Mode when drawing the elevation.
  • Amphitheater Setup:

    • Draw an elevation outside of a room layout and set the wall height to zero.
    • Highlight all lines in turquoise and use Going Up and Going Out options for a tiered effect.
