How to associate an add-on with the main product, and how to delete it from main product in MeasureSquare 8?

This will create an add-on product to associate with another regular product for conveniently dragging both with one fell swoop; we will also show how to delete an add-on product.

For all versions of MeasureSquare 8 Desktop: 

1. Create and assign add-on product.

Step 1: Create an Add-On

Click on the "+" icon to create product, type in No./SKU & Type, and check the box labeled "Is Addon" near the bottom. Then save the product.



(Note: Main products cannot be specified as add-on products. These products are the Carpet, Hardwood, Tile, Laminate, Vinyl, Vinyl tile, Concrete, Paint, Surface types)


Step 2: Attach Add-On

Open the project items window and highlight your main flooring product in blue -> Click the blue + icon under the add-on section on the right -> Select previously made add-on as the Product & the Add-on Method -> Save ->Save again



Step 3: Drag the product into the room

(Note: For the add-on method
Area Products: the Original Quantity will calculate the net amount for the add-on and flashing coving area on the walls,  Product Usage will calculate the gross amount ( it will match the area product qty, and Floor Area will calculate the net amount)
Linear Products: Base perimeter will calculate along the inside walls of the room ignoring doorways and elevations. Seam length will calculate along any dotted line associated with roll goods.

2. Delete add-on product.

Right click on the add-on product to be deleted under Project Items-> Select "Delete"

Info: The 6lb pad nested under the carpet is the proper selection to delete. The additional 6lb pad is the same product, but it will show you the quantities throughout the project, for example when being used with other carpets on the same floor. Deleting this product will remove the product from the project items list and if it is needed again it will need to be remade.
