How do I use the tile calculation options in MeasureSquare 8?
In this video we will go over the many different ways we can adjust our tile waste calculations including factory edge, rotation, how many times a tile is cut and adding a cut margin.
This article applies to MeasureSquare 8 versions
Waste Add-on = Calculate tile area percentage. Calculates based on the NET area covered by the tile. Which means it will not include tiles being cut off by walls for re-use. It does not count each tile individually. Conflicting to Tile Replacement which implies counting tile piece by piece.
Half Reuse = Count the tile piece by piece. If the cut area is less or equal to 50%, it’s counted as a 0.5 piece, otherwise 1 piece. Works like “Waste Add-on” in a random pattern.” in a random tile pattern.
Cut and Fit = Count the tile piece by piece. Cut and fit to calculate the tile piece count. Works like “Waste Add-on” in a random tile pattern.
No Reuse = Count the tile piece by piece. Each cut area is counted as 1 piece. Works like “Waste Add-on” in a random tile pattern.
Important! When using Random Tiles to create a Random Tile Pattern by %, the software cannot apply the calculations settings of Half Reuse, Cut & Fit, and No Reuse. If any of these 3 are selected, the software will still calculate as "Waste Add-on"
