In this article, we will be going over the tile calculation options for MeasureSquare Mobile IOS
Version: 2.4.10 & Newer for MeasureSquare Mobile for iPad
Step 1: Go to your Product Catalog > Tap on the Info icon next to our tile products > Scroll down to the Calc Method filed > There are several calculation methods such as Waste Add-on, Half Reuse, Cut and Fit, and No reuse
Step 2: You can add the percentage Waste over the net area for the Waste Add-on option
Step 3: To use another calculation method > Tap on Cal Method > you only see the Addition Percent and Minimum Waste if you select the "Cut and Fit" or "Half Reuse" or "No Reuse" calculation method. The "Additional Waste ratio" is equivalent to "Attic Stock" which is an extra percentage you want to add the calculated waste ratio. If the additional waste + calculated waste is smaller than the minimum waste ratio, it will use minimum ratio on the report.
- Half Reuse: allow the program to try to reuse remnants of a tile that are 50% or greater
- Cut and Fit: the program will try and reuse remnants of a tile that are smaller than 50%
- No Reuse: the program assumes that each piece in a room will not be reused no matter of how much of a tile remains.
Step 4: For additional estimating option > Tap Estimate on the top left > Optimize > Select your tile products > With the Half Reuse, Cut and Fit, and No Reuse you will see the additional field called Ignore Tiny Size > Ignore Tiny Size: When the longest length of the tile is smaller than the value entered. It will ignore those tiny pieces.
Step 5: Cut and Fit cal method will give you even more options such as Fixed Texture Matching, Allow Rotation, Prefer Factory Edge, Max Cut Times, etc...
- Fixed Texture Matching: When selected, it does not allow tile rotating or using factory edge preferably. All tiles must be laid in the same direction.
- Allow rotation: When selected, the program will rotate the tile when necessary to achieve minimum waste or use factory edge.
- Prefer Factory Edge: When selected, the program will preferably use factory edge around the boundary. The factory is annotated using red diamonds.
- Max Cut Times: It specifies how many cuts allowed per tile.
- Cut Margin: Similar to carpet cuts, it gives installers some error tolerance space when making cuts.
- Waste Share Option: It defines the scope to share tile waste, at the project level, tab level or at room level.
- Waste Share Radius: It defines a 3D sphere in which tiles can share the waste. If the sphere includes the walls, the tile waste can be shared between the floor and walls. By default, the distance is infinity.
