How to use the Alignment Tab? (45/90 Degree Lock, Image IntelliSense, Align on Path, Auto Scroll, Crosshair)
In this article, we will explain the functions of the different tools in the Alignment tab in MeasureSquare 8.
This article applies to MeasureSquare 8.
The Alignment tab is useful for managing how various objects and drawings are aligned and spaced on your project plans. This tab comprises of five essential tools, namely: 45/90 Degree Lock, Image IntelliSense, Align on Path, Auto Scroll, and Show Drawing Crosshair
To open the Alignment tab view, click on any drawing tool first: Draw, Draw Rect, Divider, Elevation or Segment
45/90-Degree Lock
- When toggled on, this feature allows to snap lines and other objects to 45 or 90-degree angles
- Useful when you need to ensure that your design elements align symmetrically and reduce the likelihood of misalignments
- You can quickly and easily position elements without constantly checking angles manually
- Room Layouts: Use the 90-degree lock while drawing walls to ensure that your room corners and edges are perfectly square.
Pro Tip: Holding Shift is an easy way to draw angles freely without navigating to this menu
Image IntelliSense
- When toggled on, this tool enhances the efficiency and accuracy of drawing and managing room layouts using imported floor plans
- Leverages line detection technology to analyze and highlight detectable lines such as walls and boundaries on your imported plan, making it easier to trace and define these elements in your takeoff
- Allows you to draw room outlines quickly by snapping to detected lines
This setting will be overwritten if 'Align on Path' is toggled on
Align on Path
- When toggled on, this tool helps ensure the precise alignment when drawing elements along a specified path, such as walls, dividers, or elevations in your takeoff
- This aligns a path based on your imported floor plan or PDF
- Uses the true PDF plan when available and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technoloy
Auto Scroll
- This tool allows you to control how the drawing view moves when you're interacting with your diagram
- You can toggle it on or off depending on whether you want the screen to automatically scroll as you draw
Show Drawing Crosshair
- This will show/hide the crosshairs when drawing
