In this article, you will learn how to square off wedge cuts in MeasureSquare 8 for your roll goods in order to increase your waste margin.
This applies to MeasureSquare 8, Build 8941.
When estimating roll goods in MeasureSquare, you may find some cuts with complex shapes in your cut sheet. Depending on your preference, you may want to increase the overage because it may be infeasible for your installers to cut out the exact shape that is on the cut sheet.
You can find this setting by first selecting your product (in this case, SV 6'6") from the dropdown menu in the center of the toolbar, then clicking on the gear icon. Then, check the box labeled Square off Wedge Cuts.
You will notice that some of the more complex cuts will be "squared off", meaning that they will not be wedged in other cuts, but allocated their own section of the roll. The below screenshots show a cut (circled in red) before and after Square off Wedge Cuts is checked. Please note that your waste percentage will increase.
