How do I Find Missing Projects After Experiencing "Unknown Error" When Syncing?

This applies to MeasureSquare Mobile for iPad  Build 2.9.6  and newer.

From time to time, users may encounter an error message "Unknown Error" when trying to sync. This error usually persists until you either close MeasureSquare, or log out and log back in. After doing this, some users have reported that their projects have disappeared from the project list in the Home screen.

To retrieve your projects, follow these steps:

1. Open the Files app. This app should already be installed by default; if it is not installed, you may download the App Store.

2. In the Files app, please navigate to Browse -> On My iPad -> MeasureSqr -> [Your MeasureSquare ID] -> Projects. There, you may locate all project files (shown below) associated with your ID. We recommend checking the timestamp to see which files could be the correct ones, then emailing the project files to yourself on a computer so it can then be uploaded to MeasureSquare Cloud.

3. In the situation that you cannot locate the file, you can navigate through Browse -> On My iPad -> MeasureSqr -> Anonymous. MeasureSquare will sometimes create this folder and store projects not associated with a MeasureSquare ID/email there.

If the project still cannot be found, then it is most likely unrecoverable and will need to be redone.
