How do I design and create a chevron tile pattern?

In this article, we will walk you through how to design your own chevron-style pattern. By following the steps here, you will learn the most accurate and efficient way to design a chevron tile pattern.

This article applies to MeasureSquare 8 build 8941

Step 1. Design one tile in your chevron pattern  by selecting Freedraw as the Shape type, and clicking Takeoff Tile.

Step 2. In the tile drawing window, click Draw and use the keypad at right to enter in your dimensions accurately. Click Save once you have finished drawing your tile. Make sure to save again once you close this window.

Step 3. Double-click on the product to open up the View/Modify Details window. Right-click on the tile you just created, then click on Duplicate Product.

Step 3. Open up product details of one of your tiles, click on Takeoff Tile, then click on Mirror to mirror the shape. Click on Save to close the window, then Save again in the Product Details page.

Step 4. Right-click a tile, then select Design Pattern With.  In the Tile Pattern Design window below, add the second tile and drag them together so that they form a valid pattern (such that the pattern is replicated and populates the right-hand panel).
