How Do I Breakdown My Worksheet By Product vs By Room When Selling By Box?

How Do I Breakdown My Worksheet By Product vs By Room When Selling By Box?

This article we will explain the worksheet estimation style By Product Vs. By Room when selling by box. Estimating by Product will share waste across all rooms in your project. Estimating by Room will not share your waste across rooms. Below are examples explaining the estimation styles when selling by box..

This article applies to all measure products.

This project is using a Carpet tile 12” x 12” and is set at “Sell By Box”. Each box covers 75 SF/Box. When you set to Sell By box you must always enter the SF that box will cover. Do not leave SF/Box at 0 this is incorrect.

This project contains 5 rooms. Each room is 10’ x10’= 100 SF each room. The 5 rooms total to 500 SF.

Estimate by Product example

Qty       Net Area

100 SF X 5 Rooms = 500 SF

500 SF / 75 SF(1 box) = 6.67 Boxes
Rounded to the full box = 7 Boxes for the project

Estimate by Room example

100 SF / 75 SF/Box = 1.34 Boxes

Rm1. 1.34 Qty. Rounded to full box = 2

Rm2. 1.34 Qty. Rounded to full box = 2

Rm.3 1.34 Qty. Rounded to full box = 2

Rm.4 1.34 Qty. Rounded to full box = 2

Rm.5 1.34 Qty. Rounded to full box = 2

Total boxes = 10 Boxes total for 5 rooms.

Note:

For this project I used for 0% waste in the product settings and 0” Grout Width in the pattern settings.
